Hospital Visit of Special Education Management and Services for Children with Developmental and Behavioral Disorder and Children with Chronic Illnesses

On March 6, 2024, Dr. Sija Leelathanaporn, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician, and QSNICH team welcomed Dr. Tina Taylor, Professor of Special Education and Associate Dean of the McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University. The visit was focused on exploring the Holistic School in Hospital (HSH), initiative and bedside learning practices at the Pediatric Surgical Ward, Child Developmental and Behavioral Center, Rehabilitation Medicine Department, and Day Care Service.

The purpose of this visit was to facilitate an exchange of ideas and best practices related to special education systems, services, and management for pediatric patients with developmental and behavioral disorders, as well as chronic illness patients who required long-term hospitalization.
