Department of Ophthalmology      The Department of Ophthalmology, Queen Sirikit National lnstitute of Child Health's well known as a referral center of Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) from all over the country, as well as the neighborhood country. We have the largest number of ROP patient in Thailand, around 100 cases per year, The full functional services, started 20 Years ago, include: screening, treatment, follow-up and rehabilitation. Screening is done in all admitted premature babies and high-risk newborn babies, by using indirect ophthalmoscope. Previously cryotherapy was treatment of ROP until Laser lndirect Opthalmoscope is available since 1998. Ret-cam, the only digital fundus camera for children in Thailand, is used to record and follow up the disease. The patient has good result in visual development by using rehabilitation stimulation box      Children eye center is established for the purposed of academy, teaching and research in Pediatric Ophthalmology. Well known subspecialty Ophthalmologists are consultants in both academic and services.
